Woot

If you like your online shopping with a side of snide, Woot has it. The snarky e-commerce company sells discounted computers, electronics, and all sorts of other items at woot.com, t-shirts at shirt.woot, and wine.woot. It generally offers one product per day until it's sold out, which may seem like an odd business model but has brought the company considerable success and attention. Founded in 2004 by CEO Matt Rutledge, Woot (from Internet slang word "w00t" used to express joy or victory) launched its main site in 2004. A pioneer of the deal-of-the-day genre of online retailing, Woot is now an independent subsidiary of Internet colossus Amazon.com Inc., which acquired the company in mid-2010.
