We are currently recruiting for a talented and passionate Resident Services Coordinator (Long-Term Temporary) that will serve Public Housing family site residents in North and East King County. The goal of this position is to assist residents in the area in maintaining housing stability and increasing resident engagement.
Under the general supervision of the Resident Services Manager, the Resident Services Coordinator will work with residents to maintain housing stability by providing services to support compliance with lease and program requirements and acting as a liaison between residents, KCHA Property Management and local service agencies. The successful candidate will provide resource and referral services to Public Housing residents and will coordinate community building events and activities to promote resident stability and engagement. This may involve outreach on the properties and collaboration with Property Management and outside agencies.
The North and East regions cover a large area of King County. There are several cities and agencies that work with Resident Services. During the pandemic, many residents have intensified financial barriers and have been unable to pay rent. A fundamental part of this role will to be assist families in finding resources to pay current and back-owed rent. This includes collaborating with Property Management and local service providers to encourage residents to apply for rent pledges and work through any barriers the families may have. It is also an essential part of the work to document all resident contact in ETO and OnBase. A successful candidate will be familiar with data entry and documentation.
This position will be based in Shoreline, Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue and other cities on the Eastside, as needed. Flexibility in work location will be based on business need. Some remote work may be authorized after the initial probation period.
Essential Functions
The Resident Services Coordinator will:
Work with KCHA staff and Public Housing participants to support resident housing stability and solve housing issues.
Assess resident needs and provide information about and referrals to social services; provide information and connect participants to programs and services that will help participants achieve their goals; help residents apply for and maintain social services and entitlements.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with community partners to ensure residents have access to information, services and assistance for which they qualify; act as a liaison between local community governmental agencies, community councils, individuals and residents.
Coordinate, plan and implement community events (e.g. summer BBQ, resource fairs, community network meetings and learning workshops), as KCHA policy allows. This requires following KCHA guidelines and VRT policies. Community and partner meetings through Zoom and resident meetings over the phone are an acceptable alternative.
Meet with residents to discuss their situation and help problem solve; assist residents in identifying and resolving challenges and issues.
Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining the program initiatives and goals, agency core strategies, and mission.
Use data tracking software/systems (OnBase, ETO and TenMast) to input participant data on a regular basis; verify accuracy of data on a regular basis.
Complete all required paperwork and maintain participant files through per department documentation standards.

The starting salary range for this position is $66,411.00 - $81,354.00 annually dependent on qualifications and professional experience. The complete salary range for this position is $66,411.00 - $96,296.00 annually. Performance based merit increase opportunities and COLAs are reviewed on an annual basis. Physical Environment:
This work involves outreach to residents on the Public Housing properties, which may include walking and door-knocking for several hours at one time. This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
